There is no cavalry…

…on its way to save the day.

You’re on your own. God will not be answering your prayers anytime soon. And fate is just another word for laziness.

The problem with relying on someone else to get you out of the mire is that it projects the solution to your problem onto somebody else and renders you powerless.

Okay, Custer might not have been able to fight his way out of Little Big Horn with the resources he had at his disposal, but most of us can address our own problems with a little application. Here are my top tips:

1. Don’t wait for life to happen

2. Plan ahead

3. Put your fingers in pies and keep tasting

4. Keep looking, even when you’re not looking

5. Work hard

6. Never give up
