Redesigning Democracy

This website is running a competition to redesign our voting system. Brilliant idea in itself. Bad news – the deadline is Thursday. Good news – I’ve cracked it!

One problem is, too many people don’t turn out to vote. Why? It’s inconvenient and they’re apathetic. Solution: Make voting as easy as doing everyday things like… going to the cash machine. The Govt could do a tie in with the banks. (Don’t think they’re really in a position to say no.) Cash machines are secure – ish. Simply pop your card into the the hole in the wall. The computer will ask you if you’d like to vote. You press ‘enter’ for yes. The screen will display various options which you can navigate using the side buttons. Easy peasy. Next.
